That's how many words I read during the morning show today in just two hours. That doesn't even include not-scripted chat and our conversations during the commercials... you could probably add in another 1,000 words for all of that. It only took 87 words to tell you about a new study in the journal Science that compares the number of words spoken each day for men and women... and surprisingly, there wasn't much difference. On average, women speak about 16,215 words per day, while men speak about 15,669... that's only about a 550 word difference. The person who spoke the fewest number of words in the study was a man... his count.. just over 500 words all day! I think I say more than that in my first 30 minutes at work! The person who spoke the most words was also a man and his count came in at more than 45,000 words... makes you wonder what he does for a living. I would obviously be on the higher end of the study considering that I'm at the halfway point of the average by 7 am... but I do get an earlier start than most! :)
