Get a whiff of this
We've probably all been there.. someone walks past you or sits near you with a little too much perfume or cologne on. What would normally smell really nice turns into a nightmare because it's just so strong. I'll even get a headache sometimes because of it. I've never done anything about it because it hasn't bothered me that bad, but one lady in Michigan is doing something about it. She's actually suing the city where she works because of a co-worker who wears too much perfume. She says it's in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act because she has a sensitive sense of smell. The woman says the strong smell is actually causing her to not work.. and even though she was apparently asked, the co-worker won't give up the perfume. What would you do if you were this woman? Is this a case of common courtesy... should the co-worker tone down the perfume a bit to help out a cubicle neighbor or should the woman suing the city grin and bear it?

The woman wearing the perfume should tone it down and try to get along.
Suing the city is taking things a bit too far! Next thing you know the perfume wearing person will be suing because it violates her civil rights. Then were does it end.
What happened to common courtesy?
I think the woman is making a mistake by suing the City. I think the person wearing the perfume should be considerate and cut down on the amount she is using.
What will be next. The person wearing the perfume sues because her civil rights have been violated.
There should be some common ground here somewhere.
It's only sad that we as a common people CHOOSE to cause such controversy. The woman is suing the city for something they have NOTHING to do with, and the woman wearing the perfume is petty and rude. In most instances, you are courteous to the people you work with, whether you like them or not, simply to keep the work environment pleasant. The fact that these women are acting like children should say something to their company...and perhaps this should be handled by the company. Maybe they should provide their employees bibs, so if they spill food on themselves it wouldn't be offending to the person in the next cubical! :)
