When I fly, I like to dig in to a good book, catch up on the latest celebrity gossip in whatever magazine was left in the seat back or even catch a little shut-eye if the flight is long. I definitely don't want to hear someone going on and on about their problems with their friends still on the ground. Tuesday, the FCC decided not to allow people to use cell phones on flights. They had been considering lifting the cell phone ban since 2004. Their decision really had nothing to do with passengers and their thoughts on the issue, but instead technical issues with cell phone frequencies. No matter how they came to the decision, I think it's a good move. With all of the technology available today, BlackBerries, cell phones, etc., we just can't seem to get away from work. So by keeping the cell phone ban in place while in the air, maybe, just maybe, we can get some time to ourselves to just relax. That's not such a bad thing is it?
